Summer break in the UK

Heyy! I hope all of you have had a lovely summer holiday! Mine has had it's ups and downs and brought me a few things which have made my year the best year, and a recent event that's kind of put a dampener on my summer but it's life for you :') I ended up ill with blood poisoning so I've been in a bed for quite a while, currently still while blogging now.
Anyway, I have been asked to share a holiday within the UK with my readers, I usually go abroad but this year I went to... Sunny Wales. Surprisingly it was actually really sunny the day we arrived there; then it pretty much got worse weather wise every day. We had some of our Orcadian  relatives come and stay with us there so the weather wasn't a big issue because we got to spend a lot of family time together.

We stayed in two cottages joined by a locking door in the centre, so if your only staying in one then the neighbors can't come in. The cottages we stayed in allowed dogs so we took our two and my sister took her rottweiler too.

We spent a day out without the dogs, we went to the Butterfly House in Aberystywyth which wasn't far from where we was staying. I'd like to thank the staff there at 'The Magic Of Life' for being so kind, letting me take photos of their beetles and everything too.
I don't know what it is but there is something magical about butterflies landing on your nose. Even if I did go in with fabulous hair and come out with dreads from the steam machines.. I really enjoyed it! and it was definitely something new for our relatives as there isn't really much to do at all on the island they live on.
This photo has something special about it <3 The delicate wings of the butterflies and the light shining through is just beautiful.

On another day out we went off to Animalarium Borth Zoo, this was about 7 miles away from Aberystwyth; so again it wasn't far to travel.
This was a big moment for me :') I stroked the horse and I have never got close enough to one to try... I'm hella scared of horsies!

This guy followed me when I walked around the cage, growling at me and jumping up at the cage with its claws out. I mean I was wearing a faux leopard print scarf, maybe it thought I was wearing its family or something?! I don't own any real fur though so maybe he just wanted a cuddle :')

The best thing about this zoo was how close you can get to the animals, you can feed the monkeys etc if you buy cups of fruit. You will find that the little monkeys - the one in the photo above. They stick their little hands through the cage and into your fruit cup, they will rummage around, pulling out bits of fruit and look at you as if you're useless.. Then their eyes light up when they find a grape at the bottom of the cup.. You have now redeemed yourself :')

As far as I was aware this is a self funded zoo, a lot of the animals have had close human contact so they really are that extra bit friendly. The Lion pen was a bit of a walk out of the zoo and up a lane and they didn't look as happy as the other animals to be honest but overall the zoo was a great day out!
